I have been a vegetarian for more than 20 years.
But I was never happy with my body. Especially, recently, I gained a lot of weight.
I was always on a diet and failed hundreds of times. I was in a popular girl’s group at school. Everybody was thinner than me. Everybody was more beautiful than me.
One day, some guy said, “you don’t eat meat, but your friends are thinner.” He didn’t mean to hurt me, but since that day, I had been wishing I would be thin just like my friends.
I wasn’t fat. I was normal. I think many normal sized women are not happy to be “normal.” We want to be thin, perfect and flowless.
This is a journey of an ordinary Japanese vegetarian who finally became happy with her body.
You don’t have to quit eating meat. You don’t have to exercise. You don’t have to eat a lot differently from others.
I will tell you how I did it.
Let me tell you a little bit about this blog. I was writing until 2018 but stopped it. Here are the reasons why.
I did not like translating my English into Japanese and sometimes didn’t have time to ask native English speakers to correct it. I could not enjoy writing at that time.
In the last few years, I finally passed 1st grade Eiken (English exam for Japanese people), which I was writing about in my last blog.
This is the blog. → → → click here
I missed writing and knew this helped me think better. So, I decided to write again. This time, I am writing only in English and ask no one to correct it.
But why English? I was born and raised in Japan… There is a message.
“You don’t have to be perfect to use English.”
My English is not perfect, but it is good enough to communicate. Many people, especially Japanese people, are afraid of making mistakes and do not use English in public… until it becomes perfect.
Well, I used to think like that. No one told me and showed me the practical way to use the second language. Now I will show you to do that. English is just a tool. I am an English teacher and teaching that way.
I use basic English, so not only English speakers but also many people who are studying English can easily read it. (Sometimes I feel native English speakers’ English is too difficult.)
Thanks for reading my first new blog.
Please continue to read my blog. I will write about how I lost weight and keep it off.
